When I am away from my paintings and my computer I tend to do these engravings. |
These are the most portable and convenient pieces in the works: no paints to spill, no pens to explode in my pockets, and no looking for a place to plug in - All I need to take with me are a scratchboard and a needle or quill.
So, I tend to make these most often when I am on the road or in the air for holidays, conventions, and the like.
This is my latest piece. It is 5x7 inches on archival scratchboard (made of tempered hardboard, white clay, and india ink).
The details are so tiny in this piece that I am able to print it at twice its size and still have it look amazingly detailed.
No matter how large the view, web graphics really cannot show the amount of detail, the prints however are pretty spot on.
